Juan Antonio Bayona caminarà per la catifa vermella del Dolby Theatre de Los Angeles el pròxim 10 de març. "La sociedad de la nieve", la immensa darrera pel·lícula del director català, ha aconseguit dues nominacions per als Oscars 2024. En primer lloc, a Millor Pel·lícula Internacional. Haurà de competir amb "Anatomie d'une chute" de Justine Triet (França), "Io Capitano" de Matteo Garrone (Itàlia), "Perfect Days" de Wim Wenders (Japó), "Das Lehrerzimmer" de Ilker Çatak (Alemanya) i "The Zone of Interest" de Jonathan Glazer (Gran Bretanya).
A més, Bayona suma una segona nominació, optant a l'estatueta per Millor Perruqueria i Maquillatge. L'equip de la pel·lícula nominat és: Ana López-Puigcerver, David Martí i Montse Ribé. No contents amb això, el cinema català i estatal tindrà una altra representació. "Robot Dreams" de Pablo Berger és una de les cinc candidates per aconseguir el guardó a Millor Pel·lícula Animada.
